Though the coffeehouse is a product of Western culture, the formation of Taiwan’s coffee culture has a profound connection with Japan。 In the early years of Japanese rule, coffee house were mostly run by Japanese people, and it represents the place for Western forms of recreation。 "Early Taiwanese Coffee Culture Exhibition" was held to allow the public to learn more about Taiwan’s unique coffee culture, and this book is a summary of the exhibition。 The book includes introductions of coffeehouse jyogyuu (cabaret waitress), coffeehouses and music, coffee growing, and coffeehouses and art, as well as many images of coffee sets, furniture, and other items that could be seen at old coffeehouses in Taiwan. Moreover, four essays in either Chinese or English are also included to provide more information about early Taiwanese coffee culture and revolution of coffee culture in Taiwan。
