博物館的公共化與當地化，是本院最為關注的發展策略方向。在公共化方 面，我們透過對於博物館文物資訊公開和免費授權，使得博物館展覽和教育達到擴大公共參與的目的；而當地化方面，則是思考如何將展覽結合地方歷史文化，擴大並深化觀眾的知識參與。籌劃以王得祿為主題的展覽，正是故宮結合地方歷史文化的努力和經營當地化的表現之一。
