本書為「托瑪斯．德曼 歷史的結舌」展覽中文專輯。展覽由攝影展覽基金會、尤倫斯當代藝術中心與臺北市立美術館共同策劃，2025年1月18日至5月11日於本館展出。
德國藝術家托瑪斯·德曼(Thomas Demand)以逼真的紙製模型創作觀念攝影聞名於世。他對媒材特性的探討以及對議題演繹手法的細膩層次，深刻反映出他在視覺傳遞過程中的獨特哲學思考。德曼擅長結合雕塑與建築的空間元素，以及平面攝影的敘事本質，透過歷史與記憶、虛構與現實之間的交錯，挑戰我們對攝影與真實之間的固有聯想。

This Chinese edition of the catalogue is published with the exhibition “Thomas Demand: The Stutter of History ” at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum from 18 January to 11 May 2025. The exhibition has been co-organized by the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography and the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in association with the Taipei Fine Arts Museum.The Stutter of History brings together a wide-ranging survey of works spanning the arc of Thomas Demand's career and offers insight into how we might approach the onslaught of historical events that we consume in the form of images.

德國藝術家托瑪斯‧ 德曼（Thomas Demand）以逼真的紙製模型創
作觀念攝影聞名於世。他對媒材特性的探討以及對議題演繹手法的
細膩層次，深刻反映出他在視覺傳遞過程中的獨特哲學思考。德曼
擅長結合雕塑與建築的空間元素，以及平面攝影的敘事本質，透過
歷史與記憶、虛構與現實之間的交錯，挑戰我們對攝影與真實之間
的固有聯想。
「托瑪斯‧ 德曼：歷史的結舌」是藝術家創作30 年來最大型的回顧
展。展覽梳理了德曼從早期實驗性作品到其宏偉的大型系列作，深
入探索其創作歷程與思維，並重新審視他如何攪動我們對影像解讀
的慣性。德曼以厚紙板和彩紙製作的紙模型，重現歷史事件的場景，
並以攝影鏡頭將其記錄下來。最後，模型被銷毀，留下僅是一禎影
像作品。這種模糊創作過程與完成形式的手法，提出了個人化的歷
史觀看方式與記憶重建的藝術語彙。
