臺北市立美術館於2011年12月至2012年2月以「走進公眾．美化臺灣－顏水龍」為題，將顏水龍代表作品分為三個主題：優雅的原住民世界、素樸的生活美學、以及現代的都會形象，在本館三樓展覽室展出作品約200餘組件，以及包括油畫、素描、版畫、工藝設計與廣告設計作品，以及馬賽克與壁畫公共藝術作品大事紀，藉由原作、文獻史料、紀錄片與採訪錄音，以及重新校定過的藝術家大事紀年表，希望更多關心臺灣美術的人們，能夠藉此更深刻地瞭解顏水龍一生的成就與理想。本展由臺灣美術史學者顏娟英教授擔任本展展覽顧問，協助展覽作品選件與本書內容策劃，收錄展出作品圖版、研究專文、原始文獻與訪問資料。
