本次以四冊單行繪本，呈現四個不同的農村故事。
This series presents four different rural stories in four standalone picture books.
《小白魚造大浪》呈現南投縣埔里鎮一新社區，居民因為發現瀕危白魚而覺醒，以友善耕作守護河川生態，並開創產業轉型與教育體驗契機。
小小的白魚，原與溪流中常見的溪哥、苦花一般尋常無異，連棲地環境的惡化、族群數量減少都激不起一絲漣漪，所幸小小白魚的困境受到的社區居民的重視，因而從小漣漪發展成社區轉型的行動浪潮。
White Minnows Make Waves showcases Yixin Community in Puli Township, Nantou County, where residents experienced an awakening after the rediscovery of the whitefish, an endangered freshwater fish species that scientists call Moltrecht’s minnow or Taiwan white minnow. They have endeavored to protect the river ecosystem through eco-friendly farming, creating opportunities for industrial transformation and educational development.
The tiny whitefish was once as common as the pale chub or the shoveljaw carp, but went into decline due to habitat degradation, until barely a ripple remained. Fortunately, the plight of the little caught the attention of community residents, thus transforming a small ripple into a wave of community transformation.

隨著全球環境變遷與人口結構改變，農村面臨的挑戰日益複雜，如何在維持生產力的同時，兼顧生活品質與生態永續，已成為當代農村發展的重要課題。農業部農村發展及水土保持署(ARDSWC)自106年起參與里山倡議國際夥伴關係(IPSI)，長期推廣「里山倡議」，強調「與自然共生、農村共榮」的核心精神，期盼透過在地知識與多元行動，實現人與自然和諧共處的生活樣貌。
為讓更多民眾理解並親近這項理念，農村水保署自110年起出版《你知我行．里山倡議》繪本，透過淺顯易懂的故事與溫暖細膩的插畫，將概念性政策轉化為貼近生活的圖像語言。今年，農村水保署再度推出全新繪本系列，延續「以故事、說理念」的初衷，記錄農村不同角落的真實案例，呈現農村在守護土地、創新產業、凝聚人心上的多樣實踐。
農村水保署邀請各國讀者跨越語言藩籬，走入臺灣農村故事，體驗人與土地共生共榮的力量，在里山里海生產地景復育之路上，與國際攜手，共同推動永續行動。
Global environmental shifts and demographic changes pose complex challenges to rural communities. Balancing productivity with quality of life and ecological sustainability has become a key issue in contemporary rural development. To deal with this issue, the Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation (ARDSWC) has participated in the International Partnership for the Satoyama Initiative (IPSI) since 2017. The core spirit of this initiative is “living with nature so that rural communities can thrive.” To that end, local knowledge is leveraged and integrated approaches adopted to achieve a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
To familiarize the public with the initiative, the Agency published a set of four picture books in 2021, entitled The Satoyama Initiative: Taiwanese Cases of Knowledge-Based Action (known in Chinese as You Know, I Act: The Satoyama Initiative). Through accessible stories and exquisite illustrations, it translates ideas and policies into relatable visual language. This year, the Agency is publishing another set of picture books with the same purpose, to communicate concepts through stories. These books document real-life cases from various rural locales, showcasing diverse practices of land conservation, industrial innovation, and community cohesion.
The ARDSWC invites readers around the world to transcend linguistic barriers and immerse themselves in Taiwan’s rural narratives. These four books are opportunities to experience the power of socio-ecological symbiosis. On the path to revitalizing inland Satoyama and coastal Satoumi productive landscapes, let us join hands and take action in the name of global sustainability.
